"In May 1999 my husband was taken ill. Hospitalized, I was told he would not make it through the night. He did and he had to be sent to another state because there was not a doctor or hospital in our state that could help him. I had him sent to "the best hospital, the best doctor" in Baltimore Md. The top doctor in the country (for this illness) evaluated my husband and said there was nothing he could do and my husband would be dead within 72hrs.. He spent 6 weeks in a coma, on life support, on one occasion his heart stopped and he had to be revived, his liver stopped functioning, his kidneys shut down 3 times, and there was infection after infection. I was asked at one point to consider turning off life support. Oh yes did I mention the 4 major surgeries."

"After 6 weeks in Baltimore he was transferred back to our home state were he under went 2 more surgeries, more infections, and another 2 1/2 months in the hospital. He started out a 205 lb. body builder and came home 133 lbs. unable to walk or care for himself. Now he is up to 175 lbs. and doing good. He is medically retired, but alive, something I was told would never happen. I refused to believe that God would allow him to die, I just could not accept that that was what God had chosen to happen. Even though the "best doctors" were telling me there was no way my husband was going to live. I never gave up, I had faith that God would not take him from me and he didn't. I can honestly say this changed my life. I always believed in God but.....since this incident I have been baptized and I believe I haven't missed a Sunday in church. I truly look at things differently now."
